Losing hair can be psychologically devastating, as well as unsightly. Some people want a wig to look different for an occasion. Whether a person wants a new look or because they have hair loss is due to alopecia areata or cancer, looking good is a vital part of maintaining self-esteem and confidence. Here’s why human hair wigs can make all the difference to hair loss and make someone feel a million dollars.
They Don’t Look Like a Wig
Some synthetic wigs just shout “wig,” as they have a firm appearance and feel like plastic. A human hair wig, on the other hand, is more natural in touch and texture. Human hair is softer and finer than a synthetic wig. The hairline also looks more natural with a human hair wig, and the movement of the hair is very realistic. The color in a synthetic wig looks flat, but with a human hairpiece, the colors have far more dimension, enhancing that natural look.
Human Hair Wigs Are Easier to Style
While some synthetic wigs are rigid in appearance and feel firm to touch, a human hair wig is more versatile. The client will be able to get a human hair wig styled to their preference, and many are very easy to cut to shape. If they want more volume, they can get a layered style and a feminine look by having a shoulder-length wig. With a human hair wig, it can even be colored in a different shade. But wig wearers need to go easy on the color. Even with a wig, too much colorant can damage the hair.
They Have Good Heat Resistance
Some synthetic wigs are not very heat-resistant, and if they get too close to a heat source or open flame, they can melt or permanently frizz. With a human hair wig, heated rollers, curling tongs and blow dryers can be used with no problem. This makes a human hair wig more versatile.
They Tangle Less
A synthetic wig can tangle fairly easily, as the hairs are thicker than natural hair. When a human hair wig is made, the fineness of the hairs means it is less susceptible to tangling. Although this can and does occur at times, it is less frequent than with a synthetic wig.
They Last Longer
Human hair wigs are more durable than synthetic ones. Whereas a synthetic wig lasts around three to six months, wearers find a human hair wig looks good for several years. This makes human hair more cost-effective when buying wigs.
Wearers Are Worth It
One of the downsides of a human hair wig is the cost. They are more expensive than a synthetic wig, but the appearance and versatility more than makes up for the additional charge. These wigs are made from natural human hair, which is in shorter supply than synthetic products, and this adds to the charge. However, that natural feel and look is worth the extra money for the quality alone. The confidence boost that comes with wearing a human hair wig as it enhances their appearance is worth every cent.
Human hair wigs look the part and are natural in appearance, boosting self-esteem and making people look good when they need it the most. For those who want to treat themselves, the human hair wig is the best.

Alopecia Areata – Early Warning Signs
Custom Human HairWigs, Women's Hair RestorationAlopecia Areata: Symptoms and Remedies
As of right now there is no cure for Alopecia Areata, but there are medications that can help hair to grow back more quickly and to reduce the chance of further hair loss.
What are the signs and symptoms of alopecia areata?
There are some symptoms to look for when it comes to alopecia areata. The hair will begin to fall out in little round patches on the scalp. These patches can range is size from a few centimeters to less. You may even have hair loss in other parts of the body. Many notice clusters of hair in the shower or on their pillow. Hair loss can also happen similarly for those that have a sickness. For this reason hair loss alone shouldn’t be used to analyze alopecia areata. If an individual is experiencing frequent hair loss, this could be a sign of another type of alopecia like:
Both male and female pattern baldness and thinning related to alopecia areata is sudden and irregular. The hair may come back but there is no particular time that can happen in and it may fallout again in the future.
What are the causes of alopecia areata?
Like what we have mentioned before, alopecia areata is an immune disorder. The immune system takes strong cells for failed cells. Normally your resistant framework protects you from infections, and micro-organisms. If you have alopecia areata, your immunity goes after your hair follicles, from which your hair grows from. The follicles become weaker and in time they stop creating hair and hair loss is the result.
Experts in the field have not yet figures out the particular triggers that causes the immune system to attack the hair follicles. We do know that it happens more frequently to those that have a family history of immune system illnesses like type 1 diabetes or rheumatoid joint pain.
What are the treatments available for alopecia areata?
There is no cure for Alopecia Areata but the condition is something that can be dealt with. Certain treatments may have the ability to prevent future hair loss while others may help hair to grow back more quickly.
Therapeutic Treatment
Medications like minoxidil can help hair develop but needs to be used regularly and if you stop the hair loss will continue. Steroid infusion or corticosteroid creams and balms is another treatment that can help stop hair loss.
Alternative Therapies
Some people with alopecia areata have turned to treatments like:
Most alternative treatments haven’t been tried in clinical trials, so their viability in treating Alopecia Areata isn’t known.
Non-Surgical Hair Replacement Options
For those with alopecia areata the hair loss can make them feel embarrassed to be seen by others in public. Medical wigs for Alopecia offer a wonderful solution that can help them restore their hair. They are designed to be worn by individuals with little to no hair on their scalp and offer a comfortable fit that can be worn all day. The hair can be synthetic or 100% natural human hair that can give you hair that nobody would ever suspect wasn’t your own.

Not Your Father’s Hair Transplant
Hair Transplantation, Men's Hair RestorationIf your hair loss is something you have suffered with for a while, then you know exactly what it can do to your self-confidence. Today there are approximately 50 million men and 30 million women that suffer the effects of hair loss and baldness.
When you hear about hair transplants you may think of the old hair transplant techniques like the hair plugs of the ’90s. You may have just considered to just deal with your hair loss because of those old stereotypes. The new hair transplant techniques used today are nothing like those of the past.
No More Unsightly Hair Plugs
Old hair plugs are a thing of the past. Today’s procedures are minimally invasive and they have little to no discomfort. The hair you get is totally natural because it’s your own growing hair that is harvested from your scalp in what is called the donor area. The recovery time is minimal, and in most cases, a patient is ready to resume their everyday activities within days.
Modern Transplantation Techniques
There are two procedures that are used today that utilize the hair from your own head. FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) and FUT (Follicular Unit Transplant). Both take your naturally growing hair from your scalp, with the main difference between the two hair transplant surgical procedures being how the hair follicle are harvested.
The FUE procedure will harvest the hair follicles individually in random areas across the scalp with no tissue attached and then transplant the follicles individually. In FUT, also referred to as the strip method, a strip of tissue with attached hair follicles is harvested from a location typically in the back of the head. Each follicle is then transplanted. Both methods give you results that are more natural and superior looking than the old plug transplants.
Permanent and Natural Solutions
Hair transplants today are a permanent solution to hair loss. Once the hair follicle is transplanted, it will continue to grow just like it would have from the site it is harvested from. This transplanted hair can be treated just like you would the rest of your hair as far as styling, shampooing, and care. No different products are necessary for the care of transplanted hair follicles.
The Limitations
Because the transplanted hair comes from your own scalp, a hair transplant patient must have enough quantity and quality of naturally growing hair to be used. In most cases, the hair is taken from the back of the head but it can also be taken from the sides. These locations most often have a more abundant amount of hair. Unfortunately, if you are completely bald, a hair transplant would not be a procedure that would be able to be performed on you.
Is Hair Restoration Surgery Right for You?
Hair TransplantationFor many, hair restoration surgery has been an experience that was life-changing. If you are a good candidate, the procedure can improve your appearance and also your self-esteem and well-being. Before undergoing a hair transplant procedure, it’s important to set your expectations realistically as far as what you expect for the end result.
Having a number of small surgical procedures to slow down or stop the progression of hair loss may not be the best way to address thinning hair. Patient’s who still have a significant number of hairs on their scalp risk experiencing what is known as “shock loss.” This is a result of surgical trauma and it causes you to lose some of your remaining hair. It’s important for you as a patient to understand if you are a good candidate for a procedure before undergoing a hair transplantation procedure.
Studies have been done and they have come to show that there are five groups of individuals that are considered to be good candidates for hair restoration surgery.
Most men and women like to assume they are going to keep their full head of hair. In reality, many of us are going to suffer some degree of hair loss or pattern baldness and that can be because of aging, genetics, or a number of lifestyle factors. We have witnessed many outstanding medical science achievements and advancements that have enabled us to restore our hair through surgical procedures. Those suffering from hereditary hair loss can get the benefits of restoring their hair.
Hair Transplantation for the Young Patient
Hair TransplantationThere are often times when you come across a young patient that is highly interested in having a hair transplant procedure. A young patient refers to an individual that is 25 years of age or younger. Great care must be taken in considering someone at this age for a hair transplant. Young patients must be made aware that hair is transplanted in bald or thinning areas, the hair loss of their existing native hair will continue and new thinning areas may be created which will require further procedures in the future.
TYPE 1: Ηair loss in the temporal areas (Norwood Class 2 or 2A)
A person in with this type of hair loss will begin to lose hair on their temples and they are often worried to replace the lost hair.
This is sometimes not the best solution. Hair loss will continue and by having a hair transplant into the temporal areas, it is possible that soon enough the hairline will begin to recede and the hair behind the transplanted temporal area will start to receding too. This can leave young patients with two patches of hair on the left and right temple. If that happens then the patient has no other options but to proceed with further surgeries to replace those empty areas or they would be left with a strange and unnatural look. It is important to examine the present condition of donor and recipient areas and a look at the family history of hair loss. This will help approximately predict the Norwood Scale that he might end up at in the future.A decision can be made to proceed once we know all the information.
TYPE 2:
This type of young patient has reached a stage where they feel they are losing their youth, and there is a significant amount of hair that will be needed to replace the hair in these areas.
In this type of case, the family history of hair loss has to be examined in order to predict the final stage of baldness that could be reached. We also need to investigate the quality of follicular units in the donor area. If it can be determined that the young patient is a potential Norwood Class 7, it is better to avoid the hair transplant surgery as the donor area may not offer enough to cover the potential baldness. If the patient is found to be a potential Norwood Class 5 or 6 then a hair transplant is possible but the individual must understand the limitations regarding hair density. If a high density is used to cover the front and crown areas, then there may not be enough in the donor area to maintain this high density with future balding. Because of this, a more conservative approach needs to be taken.Usually, young patients have a higher expectation as they have just recently lost their hair and are not willing to settle for anything less than what they once had. Before a hair transplant can be performed the patient must have realistic expectations or they will be unsatisfied with the results.
TYPE 3:
This type of young patient has to have a lot of caution. This is the type of person that very well may end up in a high class 7 and a hair transplant is not recommended. We need to carefully examine the hair loss history from mother and fathers side and identify whether the patient has reached the final stage of hair loss or if the potential for hair loss in the future is possible. This is what when we would have them look into hair replacement as a solution. They can only replace their hair with a mature hairline, low density with the help of donor beard hair. Another option is to leave the crown area uncovered but still have a natural look.
These cases are looked at individually and advice is given according to parameters such as:
At Van Scoy Hair Clinics we are very concerned about the correct approach to all of our patients and especially the young ones. We are committed to giving the correct advice.
Birth Control and Hair Loss
hair loss treatmentYou have probably read a headline somewhere or maybe you have even experienced it yourself, there is no doubt that birth control can have side effects like hair loss. Some women when they are taking the pill experience hair loss, while others don’t until several weeks after they stop taking it.
As with any medication, it can be difficult to determine if contraception is the culprit for the hair loss. Here are some possible connection and what you can do about it.
How can the birth control pill cause hair loss?
The American Hair Loss Association says that birth control pills have clinically proven to be safe and effective. However, they do recognizes the negative effects they can have on normal hair growth, especially for those women that have a history of hair loss in their family.
If a woman is sensitive to the hormones contained in contraceptive pills, that can create a hair loss issue. The reason for that is it can disrupt the normal hair growth cycle of your hair.
Your hair grows in phases which are: Active, Transitional, and Resting. Birth control pills can cause your hair to move from the active growth phase to the resting phase much sooner than it should. This results in a large portion of hair growth but also the hair falls out at a pace that is far too quick for the hair regrowth.
For women that are sensitive to hormonal-related hair loss, the pill suppresses the ovulation, the hormonal changes taking place in the body can increase the chances of hair loss weeks or even months after a woman stops taking the pill.
When hair loss is the result of high levels of estrogen, that increases the cell turnover and speeds up the entire cycle, it’s medically termed telogen effluvium. Often treatment isn’t required as your body will eventually adjust to the higher estrogen levels.
What can you do about hair loss?
If you suspect you are having hair loss that is due to taking the contraceptive pill, you should talk to your doctor before stopping. It might be possible that simply changing to a lower-dose pill or finding another form of contraception might resolve your issue.
By taking pro-active steps to take care of your hair and avoid chemical-based treatment and taking care when styling your hair can all help as your body adjusts to your body adjusts hormonally. You can help promote healthy hair growth by making changes to your diet and eating sufficient minerals, and vitamins like zinc and B vitamins.
If you are looking to do something about your hair loss to get your hair back there are a number of treatments available like EHT Hair Loss Treatment therapy, hair extensions, human hair wigs. Talk to one of hair loss specialists to see what options are right for you and the hair loss you have.
Going Natural for Healthy Hair
Hair Extensions, hair loss treatment, Healthy Hair and BeautyHair loss is far more common than many men and women would like to admit. While some medical hair loss treatments can help, there is no magical cure for hair loss. The one thing you can do is take care of your hair and doing so naturally is a good idea to improve your hair’s appearance.
Taking a natural approach
For many people, taking a natural approach to hair health as well as overall health just seems like a good idea. A balanced diet and regular exercise can help you to feel and look good. We all know that when it comes to food, eating fresh is much better for you than processed foods. A healthy diet that is rich in nutrients and vitamins and drinking plenty of water all can have a positive benefit for your skin and hair.
It has been noted by the US Office on Women’s Health that the best way to keep your hair in tip-top shape involves a healthy lifestyle and good hair care. It’s a good idea to wash your hair regularly but that doesn’t mean every day. Hair can get too dry and that will lead to breakage of the hair strands. Also, when you wash your hair, make sure the water is not to hot as that can work against your hair and can dry out your locks. Just like you would ingest chemicals, it is best to minimize the amount of chemicals you put on your scalp. Always look at the labels for hair dyes, shampoos, and other hair care products so you know what contents they have in them. Opt for natural, and high-quality products like those used by many professionals.
Lifestyle factors to consider
There are a number of factors that can contribute to hair loss and one of the most common is genetics. There are medical conditions that can play a part in someone developing thinning hair or baldness as well. According to the Mayo Clinic, chronic stress is a contributor to hair loss. Depending on how severe the stress in your life is, you might want to consider making changes in your lifestyle where possible in order to help minimize the stress levels you’re facing. This could involve talking to family and friends, a medical professional, getting regular exercise and other activities like yoga, acupuncture, and medication.
Other options
Making healthy choices from the foods we eat to the products you use on our hair and scalp can improve the appearance of your hair and keep it in healthy condition. If you have hair loss you should talk to your doctor or a hair loss specialist. There are a number of different treatments that over the years has advanced dramatically. There are men’s hair replacements and human hair extensions that can hide your hair loss and ensure your hair looks healthy and full.
